Una preciosa isla turística en Indonesia que tiene un secreto selvático que pocos conocen. El oud de sumbawa, el oud volcánico, tiene una composición y un desarrollo que no hemos visto nunca en ningún otro oud, cosa que lo hace raro, pero al tiempo lo hace adictivo y muy solicitado por los muy pocos que lo conocen.
El oud volcánico es un tipo de oud que parece que tiene el volcán incrustado en su adn, huele ahumado, profundo, misterioso, pero eso es el fondo. Envolviendo este olor hay una sensación cuerosa, como de oud indio muy maduro, de los de más de 100 años de la selva noroeste de la India, esos ouds que son para reyes y para afortunados… y todo rodeado de un aura mentolada, no que huela a menta verde, sino que da esa sensación de menta, de frescor que convierte una fragancia que podría parecer oscura en un crisol de luces y sombras único.
Pocas veces se tiene la oportunidad de descubrir maravillas así, tan diferentes. Un volcán de madera y cuero rodeado de un aura de menta. Vivir para ver.
Nos plantemos hacer una venta privada de este oud únicamente para amigos y familiares fanáticos del oud pero, no hemos querido privar a otros amigos de esta comunidad virtual de poder disfrutar de esta locura olfativa.
La cantidad a la venta es limitada y estamos deseando ir de nuevo a esta isla, pero de momento, esto es todo lo que hay y no sabemos si podremos ir pronto. Lo que si sabemos es que los productores locales prefieren vivir del turismo y cada vez la producción en menor…

A beautiful touristic island in Indonesia, that hides a selvatic secret that not many know of. The Oud from Sumbawa, the volcanic oud, has a composition that we have never seen in any other othe, which makes it unique, yet it makes it addicive and very looked after by the very few that know it. The volcanic oud is a type of oud that seems to have the volcano embeded in its DNA, smells smoky, Deep, misteryous, but that is the bottom of it. Envolving this scent there is this leathery vibe, the one you get from a very mature Indian Oud, those that are over 100 years old for the northwest jungle of India, those ouds that are for kings and for very fortunate people… and all of it surrounded by a minty aura, not that it smells like Green mint, but that it sends the vibe of mint, of freshnes that turns an oud that could be identified as dark into a unique caleydoscope of lights and shadows.
Not many times you have the chance to discover wonders like this, so different. A volcano made of Wood and leather surrounded by a minty aura. Marvels happen.
We considered doing a private sale of this oud just for old time clients and for fanatic friends and family of oud, but we did not want to deprive other friends from this virtual community to be able to enjoy this olfactive crazyness. The amount that we are selling is limited and we are yearning to go to this island again, but, for the time being, this is all there is and we do not know if we will be able to go son. What we do know is that the local producers prefer to make a living out of tourism and each year the production is more and more limited…
